What the heck is πŸ¦„πŸ’©

To remain a well-fed unicorn, you have to stay on all the design, startup, and code news. And with #coronavirus, who has time to do any of that?

As a product and UX designer, full-stack developer, and co-founder at a tech-biotech @phagedirectory, I strive to great products to help advance science and phage research.

To stay on top of all of that, I read (re: skim) a lot of Medium blogs, links, articles, posts, books, podcasts, whatever. πŸ¦„πŸ’©is for me to filter out the πŸ¦„ from πŸ’©, and save them for my future self. And for any passersby (like you!) who might think it useful.

I get a lot of my stuff from Hacker News, Indie Hackers, Medium, Sidebar.io, Designer News, Data Elixir, and a bunch of other places. If you’re a startup-, tech-, or designer, you’ve probably seen most of the links already. If not, then it’s a pleasant surprise!

Oh and sometimes I’ll add stuff about academia and biotech too.

πŸ¦„πŸ’©?

In the tech-design-startup-world πŸ¦„s are either startups valued more than $1B, or people who can both design and write code. I don’t have a valuable startup, but I do know how to design and code. And I detest the term πŸ¦„ (should be called πŸ” β€” they can fly, run, and do a bunch of other stuff poorly). This is πŸ¦„πŸ’© because as a β€œπŸ¦„β€ I read a lot of crap, and some of the stuff I like ends up here.
